The vision of one Rotarian reminds us that even small ideas can grow into lasting contributions. The Four Peaks Rotary club works hard to make a difference. Here are just a few of the important differences our members have created. The Four Peaks Rotary Club continues to serve as a driving force for good, blending service with stewardship and helping to shape a brighter, more welcoming town — one thoughtful project at a time in our neighborhood.

Banner Display Signs: Enhancing Our Town, One Project at a Time

The vision of one Rotarian sparked a project that now welcomes thousands to Fountain Hills with beauty and pride. Thanks to the leadership of Julie Ewald (Past-President 23-24) and the generosity of the Four Peaks Rotary Club, three Town Banner Display Signs have been beautifully installed in key Fountain Hills locations — each one a message of welcome, pride, and unity. "Building Community - People of Action."

“These unique banner display signs are more than markers,” shared Ms. Ewald “They’re a sign of building community, just as we’ve done with our larger projects like the Rotary Splash Pad, Rotary Community Musical Instrument Park, and our support for the Centennial Pavilion. It’s all connected — making Fountain Hills a place where families thrive and beauty is everywhere. Even when not displaying a banner, these custom-crafted sign structures serve as elegant architectural accents — framing the breathtaking desert backdrop and enhancing the scenic charm that makes Fountain Hills so unique.”

Framing Our Natural Beauty

Strategically placed near Fountain Park, the Avenue of the Fountains, and the Community Center, the signs help frame the beauty of our desert landscape, world-famous fountain, and vibrant public spaces — serving as visual gateways into what makes our town special.

A Canvas for Civic Expression

These banner display signs are designed to change with the seasons and community events, offering a fresh, ever-evolving reflection of what’s happening in Fountain Hills — from Centennial celebrations to special community events, fairs, and more.

International and Global Impact

Rotary Foundation and DigDeep: bringing running water to homes on the Navajo Nation - YouTube Video Watch Here

To think there are thousands of people living in Arizona without access to basic plumbing and clean, running water is unimaginable. But that is precisely the case for the Navajo Nation, located in parts of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.

In 2019 Jeff Poynter was optimistic that the project fits well with Four Peaks Rotary’s vision. “We’re a club that wants to help as many people as possible. This is a tremendous opportunity for Four Peaks Rotary to step up and really make a difference in many lives.”  With that said, Four Peaks Rotary accomplished a $400,000 Global Grant which is equivilant to approximately 85 homes on the reservation.

Back in 2019, Four Peaks Rotary President-elect Jeff Poynter (top) and Rotary International project coordinator Jim Bissonet shared Rotary’s plan to initiate underground cistern systems to hundreds of homes in the Navajo Nation. Four Peaks Rotary is hopeful of becoming a part of this Rotary International effort to supply clean water and electricity to the Navajo Nation.
