Blue Zones Personal Pledge ... Blue Zones Project® is a well-being improvement initiative designed to help make healthier choices easier.

Blue Zones Project is a well-being initiative that is brought to each community through the support of forward-thinking community sponsors. The value is improved well-being through healthier choices offered where people live, work, and play such as worksites, schools, grocery stores and restaurants. Because sponsors fund the project, there is no cost to individual citizens, organizations or the city. Projects are generally three to five years and are funded by multiple sponsors contributing to yearly investments in their community’s health.

Blue Zones Project has a unique relationship with each community, and funding models vary from state to state and community to community. From public funders, like Fountain Hills Health District, to public-private partnerships, Blue Zones Project sponsors are making an investment in community and individual well-being.

Self Promises: Start your journey today and make the following promises to your self:

  1. I will move naturally more often throughout the day.
  2. I will discover my purpose and renew my spirit.
  3. I will meet new friends who will help change my life for the better.
  4. I will eat more fruits and vegetables and be mindful of all else that I eat.
  5. I will take time for myself and find ways to relieve stress.

The Blue Zones Challenge is a four-week guide and year-long sustainability program to jump-start your journey to better health, happiness, less stress, and a longer life.

Get started on the path to a longer, healthier, happier life with this quick start to building your own Blue Zones lifestyle. Dan Buettner, founder of Blue Zones and author of the New York Times number one best-selling Blue Zones Kitchen, offers the challenge of a lifetime: Build a foundation for better nutrition, more exercise, and a stronger social life that will extend your lifetime by years.

In this easy-to-implement guide, you’ll start with the rules of the Blue Zones Challenge, including tips and tricks from the five blue zones—locations around the world where people consistently live to 100—advice for setting up a successful kitchen and pantry, and resources for expanding your support network. Then, follow week-by-week prompts to change your diet, increase your activity, update your living spaces, and build your social life.

2024 Planned Community Blue Zone Project
About Blue Zones®

Blue Zones employs evidence-based ways to help people live longer, better. The company's work is rooted in explorations and research done by National Geographic Fellow Dan Buettner in Blue Zones regions around the world, where people live extraordinarily long and/or happy lives. The original research and findings were released in Buettner's bestselling books The Blue Zones Solution, The Blue Zones of Happiness, The Blue Zones, Thrive, and Blue Zones Kitchen—all published by National Geographic books. Using original Blue Zones research, Blue Zones works with cities and counties to make healthy choices easier through permanent and semi-permanent changes to our human-made surroundings. Participating communities have experienced double-digit drops in obesity and tobacco use and have saved millions of dollars in healthcare costs. For more information, visit bluezones.com.
